Thanksgiving Prayers

By Annie Oakes

Today was our third day at the Faith Village – the morning consisted of a lot construction work. We cleared piles of dirt and carried concrete. We were dirty and tired by noon when we went in to take wet wipe showers and change our clothes. The afternoon was a celebration program, “Thanksgiving Prayers.” It was a time of giving thanks for the work of Faith Victory Alliance over the years, especially 2015. There were testimonies from students that have been able to turn their lives around thanks to FVA, a sermon from a pastor friend of Dr. Immaculee, a message from Karen, celebration of kids that made great strides in school and prayers. The event ended with dancing, singing and soda in glass bottles for all adults in attendance! It is great to hear all the things that have happened over the years to serve the people of Rwanda, and was fun to see all three families we visited on Wednesday knowing that they can count on FVA to continue to serve them and help them succeed. It felt like a long day, but very productive physically, emotionally and spiritually. God has done amazing things through Faith Victory Association and it is a blessing to know that the partnership with New Mercies has helped in many ways!
